Goddesses, Gods

*

Goddesses, Gods, mountains, roses, pieces of glass

Flowers that grow untended, and water.

Water trickling down, water trickling down, water trickling down

Gods face.

Water falling down, water falling down, water falling down,

from the heavens, from the havens... Water falling down.

I had a dream, when I was a boy.

I dreamt that I was a great undersea monster

making my way along the ocean bottom.

I was a finder of things.

Would that I could that I would that I want,

would that I could that I would that I what?

I could find, I could find, I could find...

Mermaids, seashells, twisted pieces of glass, and things too deformed to

categorize.

and I, myself, had a form too deformed to categorize.

But I made my way, none the less, along the ocean bottom, scuttling

tooth and claw, through the silt, through the mermaids, through the Goddesses.

Would that I could that I would that I want, would that I could that

I would that what?

I could find, I could find, Goddess, Gods, mountains, roses, pieces of glass.

But now I am old. I am an old crustacean. I have barnacles on my belly!

Still I can find, I can find, I can find, Goddess, Gods, mountains, flowers,

and the beauty!
